The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) is seeking to license a new bitcoin farm facility to provide fish farming in Florida.
The farm will be located at a private parcel at the corner of South Carolina Avenue and South Orange Street in Orlando.
The state’s Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) will be the agency overseeing the project, which was first approved in December 2016.
The FWC will be responsible for the project and the permitting process, but it also hopes to secure other federal funding.
Currently, there are only a handful of bitcoin farms operating in the state, according to FWC Director of Public Affairs Kelly Burdick.
This is an effort by the state to create an alternative to the existing fish farming industry, which has a lengthy permitting process and a steep cost of compliance.
Currently Florida only licenses fish farms in three of the state’s five counties.
The FWC plans to expand the pool of licenses to include farms in all 50 states.
The company behind the project said the goal is to establish a safe and sustainable bitcoin farming business model in the Sunshine State.
The Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Code states that bitcoin farming must be approved by the DATCP.
The company said the new license is a significant step forward for the fish farming business, which already requires state permits.
The DATIP is a federal agency that helps regulate cryptocurrency businesses.
According to the FWC, the state hopes to hire an independent contractor to work with the company to establish the business model.
Once that is done, the company plans to provide employees with a full-time position at the new fish farm.
The firm will need to demonstrate the safety and security of the facility and provide a “factory-like environment,” the FWDC said in a news release.
This will be necessary to ensure the facility complies with Florida’s regulations regarding fish farming.
The state is seeking $3,000 for this work.
According the news release, the proposed bitcoin farm will provide a large amount of fish in the first year.
It will grow to approximately 2,500 fish and will require a new water source for the farm.
The Florida Department of Health also said the farm will not be allowed to sell fish in excess of 50 pounds.
The project is also expected to increase the size of the fish farm by 20 percent in the second year, according the news report.
The proposed fish farm is also likely to include a separate and secure fish storage facility, with a total capacity of 1,500,000 fish.
The total capacity will increase to 1,600,000 by the end of 2019, according state documents.
