A farmer in Kentucky shot his wife in the arm and abdomen Tuesday after she allegedly tried to choke him, according to authorities.
According to a press release from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred shortly after 4:30 p.m. in the village of Maggie’s Farm, about 30 miles southeast of Louisville.
Investigators say the incident began when the woman allegedly tried choking the man.
He told her to go away and she allegedly hit him in the face.
When the man went to get help, the woman kicked him in his stomach and his leg, authorities said.
She then allegedly kicked him again and in the back of the head.
She then fled, but a short time later, the husband followed.
When he tried to get back to the home, he was attacked by a group of men.
The husband was then able to wrestle the woman from the ground and arrest her, the release stated.
The Sheriff’s office said the woman was taken to a hospital and later died.
The incident remains under investigation.
